Kayla Panos
SPT, DPT

Kayla was raised in Texas and is a proud Austinite. She grew up playing sports of every kind, ultimately focusing on soccer and volleyball through high school. During her high school years Kayla became deeply involved with a non-profit in Nicaragua, where she spent a cumulative 3 months working with healthcare professionals in underserved rural communities. Although Kayla had received physical therapy for several sports injuries growing up, it was while working alongside pediatric therapists in Nicaragua that she fell in love with PT. Kayla’s passion for people, serving and fitness found purpose in the field of physical therapy.

Kayla went on to attend The University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with honors earning a B.S. in Exercise Science. While in college, Kayla’s involvement abroad continued as did her pursuit of PT. During her 4 years at UT Kayla’s passion for PT deepened while working as a volunteer at Dell Children’s Hospital and Children’s Therapeutics of Austin, as well as an orthopedic clinic, STAR Physical Therapy. After graduating in 2011, Kayla moved to Houston, TX where she is currently working towards her doctorate in physical therapy at Texas Woman’s University. Located in the largest medical center in the world, TWU has provided Kayla with immeasurable opportunities to further her clinical skills and professional development.

Kayla spent her first clinical internship in the Texas Medical Center at St Luke’s Hospital, where she gained valuable experience working in the ICU. On this rotation Kayla treated patients with a wide range of diagnoses, including progressive neurological disorders, stroke, cardiopulmonary diseases, post-transplant and other postoperative interventions.

For her second internship she decided to venture out of the great nation of Texas to explore the Pacific Northwest, landing here in Kirkland, WA. Kayla is beyond thrilled to join the Lake Washington Physical Therapy team for the summer. She is excited to further develop her skills in the outpatient orthopedic setting, an area that captured her interest while in PT school. Kayla is grateful for the opportunity to grow and learn alongside her clinical instructor, Matt Sato, at the LWPT Houghton clinic. In her free time Kayla enjoys running, baking, painting, reading and singing. She is a lover of animals, live music, all things food and has recently discovered a newfound love of hiking thanks to the abundance of opportunities to do so here in Washington.
